WhatsApp has launched the fingerprint lock feature for its Android users. With this feature, Android users can now lock the app automatically and then unlock it with their fingerprint. Touch ID (Fingerprint Recognition) and Face ID (Facial Recognition) feature are already available for iPhone users since February 2020. Learn how to enable the feature in your WhatsApp.

WhatsApp Fingerprint Lock Feature for Android
Just like the Touch ID feature available for iPhone users, now WhatsApp Android users will also be able to lock or unlock WhatsApp with their fingerprint. Users can also choose after how much time the app should be locked automatically once it is closed. You will get three options here,
- the first one is Immediate.
- the second is After 1 minute and
- the third option is After 30 minutes.
Apart from it, users can also choose whether the message of the sender should appear in the notification or not.

How to Enable Fingerprint Lock Feature in WhatsApp
To enable WhatsApp Fingerprint Lock, you need to follow the below steps:
Step 1: Open your WhatsApp and go to Settings.
Step 2: Go to Account> Privacy> Fingerprint Lock. By default fingerprint option is disabled. Enable it by toggling the button towards the right.
Step 3: After enabling the fingerprint option, the user has to confirm the fingerprint. Put your finger on the sensor with which you want to unlock the WhatsApp.
Step 4: Once your fingerprint is set, you will get three options to set the time after which the app should be locked automatically once it is closed. Choose any of the three options available according to your comfort.
That’s it. A fingerprint lock will be set in your WhatsApp. You can also choose whether you want to preview the sender and message text in notifications or not. By default, it is enabled in the app. You can disable it by toggling the button towards the left.
